From 9am, it's a continuous low rumble rising from the valley β a deep, heavy sound that hits you in the chest before you've even opened your eyes. For four days, Morzine becomes Daytona Beach with a side of tartiflette. The air smells of warm leather, petrol and beer. 70,000 enthusiasts, 40,000 machines from across Europe, and France's national holiday as the backdrop.
Welcome to the Morzine-Avoriaz Harley Days 2026 β 10th edition of one of the largest Harley-Davidson gatherings in Europe. This guide won't give you the official programme you can find everywhere. It will tell you what official sites can't write: is it worth being here, and for whom?

ποΈ What exactly are the Harley Days?
The Morzine-Avoriaz Harley Days follow a well-oiled rhythm: sea and mountains in alternation. Odd years bring the Opale Harley Days at the seaside. Even years β like 2026 β the Harley community heads to altitude. Morzine has hosted the event since 2008, and this 10th edition marks a symbolic milestone.
The 2024 edition brought together nearly 70,000 enthusiasts over 4 days and over 40,000 motorcycles from across Europe. In 2026, figures should be similar. To put that in perspective: Morzine has around 3,000 permanent residents. The village multiplies its population by 20 during these 4 days.
π The programme day by day
The key highlights of each day β without drowning you in details available on the official site.
ποΈ The grand parade β Monday 13 July
This is the highlight of the four days. Thousands of V-Twins descend from Avoriaz in a continuous procession β gleaming, thundering, magnificent. The Route d'Avoriaz becomes the highest-altitude motorcycle parade in Europe.
From the Morz'Inn balcony β at 953A Route d'Avoriaz, you have a VIP box seat. No need to push through the crowd: grab a local beer, lean on the railing, and watch Europe's greatest motorcycle parade roll past literally beneath your feet.
πΈ The concerts (all free)
Each evening, two simultaneous stages: the Main Stage (Place de l'Office du Tourisme) for the headliners, and the Harley Bar (Place de la Poste) for live rock bands through the night.
π§ The local survival guide
Parking: organised chaos
The town centre is completely closed and pedestrianised during the event β or rather "motorised". The Place de l'Office du Tourisme, rue du Bourg and the lower PlΓ©ney become one giant open-air showroom. Cars are banned from the centre. Options:
- Les Prodains car park (Route d'Avoriaz, Morzine side)
- Carrefour zone and northern outer car parks
- Walk or take a shuttle from your accommodation
Traffic during the parade
Monday 13th from 3:30pm to 6pm: the Route d'Avoriaz is at a standstill. An unbroken chain of motorcycles winds up and down the mountain. Trying to take your car out shopping at that point guarantees a three-hour wait. Plan your movements accordingly.
Restaurants: booking essential
Terraces are packed from midday and on concert evenings it's "mission impossible" without a reservation made weeks in advance. Local survival options:
- Street food stalls and food trucks at the event
- Head to Saint-Jean-d'Aulps or Le Biot for a quieter table
- Book now if you're reading this before July
Recommended timing
| Moment | Ambiance | Pour qui |
|---|---|---|
| Morning (8β10am) | Relatively calm | Hikers β leave early before it heats up |
| Daytime (10amβ6pm) | Full swing | Spectators, photographers, exhibitors |
| Mon 13, 3:30β6pm | Road blocked | Be in position or stay in β do not drive |
| Concert evenings | Festive and loud | Open-air rock fans |
| Night (midnightβ2am) | Maximum noise | Avoid if you sleep with windows open facing the centre |
π― Who it's ideal for β who should avoid it
- Families with children aged 7β14 β unique visual spectacle, open-air concerts, relaxed atmosphere. Your kids will talk about the parade for years.
- Photographers β mountain light + custom Harleys + colourful crowd = paradise. The bikes parked in the town centre are an inexhaustible subject.
- Rock fans β three free evenings with top-tier artists. Louis Bertignac + Bastille Day fireworks is a memory for life.
- Lovers of beautiful machines β even without being a biker, seeing 40,000 Harleys gathered in one place is something else.
- Remote workers β mornings will be noisy. Not ideal for calls.
- Families with very young children β the motorcycle noise is impressive, not dangerous, but can be stressful for under-4s.
- Hikers seeking peace β morning trails are still accessible, but the village itself won't be the peaceful haven you expected.
- Spa & wellness break β book another week, it'll be better for everyone.
Β« On vient Γ Morzine le 12β13 juillet avec deux enfants de 7 et 10 ans, pas motards. Bonne idΓ©e ? Β»
Yes β as long as you know what you're getting into. If you're dreaming of a quiet weekend with picnics by the Dranse and peaceful streets, choose another date. But if your children love impressive motorcycles and a festive atmosphere doesn't bother you, this can become a pretty unique holiday memory. Don't come looking for the peaceful Morzine of the postcards. Come and discover a different Morzine β loud, alive, and surprisingly good-natured.

Check availability ββ Frequently asked questions
Do the Morzine Harley Days happen every year?
No β every two years, alternating with the Opale Harley Days at the seaside (odd years). Morzine hosts the alpine edition in even years. The next one after 2026 will be in 2028.
Are the concerts paid entry?
No. Main Stage concerts (Ben l'Oncle Soul, The Subways, Louis Bertignac) are freely accessible from public space. No ticket is needed to attend.
Do you need a Harley to take part?
Absolutely not. The event is open to everyone β bikers, spectators, families, the curious. Guided rides are reserved for Harley motorcycles, but all animations, concerts and the parade are open to everyone.
Can you still find accommodation for Harley Days 2026?
It's very difficult. All of Morzine and the Aulps valley fill up months in advance. If you're reading this late, try Thonon-les-Bains, Cluses or Taninges β by car, 30β45 minutes away.
How do I sign up for the organised rides?
Alpes Spirit Chapter rides (β¬30 per person, lunch included) can be booked on the official website morzineavoriazharleydays.com. Motard'Aulps heritage rides (β¬43) can be booked at their tent on site or online at motardaulps.fr.
Where to watch the parade if you're not staying on Route d'Avoriaz?
The parade descends from Avoriaz and arrives in Morzine around 5pm. Best spots: the Prodains bend (panoramic elevated view), the lower Route d'Avoriaz on the Morzine side, and the Place de l'Office du Tourisme for the arrival. Get in position before 3:30pm β after that, the road is blocked.
